BROOKLYN, NY - April 10, 2024 - Williamsburg House, a Brooklyn-based provider of comprehensive sober housing and recovery support services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Greer Morris, MPH, CYT, to the role of Program Director. With over 30 years of experience in program development, executive leadership, public health and case management, Jessica brings invaluable expertise to further enhance the mission of Williamsburg House.
As Program Director, Jessica will be responsible for leading and growing the Williamsburg House Sober Living Program, deepening its services and relationships in the community, and serving as an advocate for individuals struggling with substance use and mental health issues.
Additionally, as a certified yoga teacher and reiki practitioner trained in eastern and western healing modalities, she will be integrating mindfulness, wellness and other holistic best practices into the program.
Jessica brings a wealth of experience as a senior leader in various social service capacities in the nonprofit and governmental sectors. As early at 1990, Jessica advocated for criminal justice reform by helping redirect defendants to drug treatment as an alternative to incarceration while working at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. She later received a Master of Public Health at Columbia University while working as the Director of Community Relations at the NYC Health Department, championing harm reduction strategies throughout the five boroughs. Jessica is known best as the Co-Founder of Girl Be Heard, a global youth development organization, and more recently as the Interim CEO/Executive Director of the Brooklyn Community Pride Center advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. She is also the recipient of several leadership awards, including Newsweek’s Fearless Women Who “Shake up the World,” SELF’s Women Doing Good, and featured in TED talks.

Jessica Greer Morris, MPH is a human rights advocate, LGBTQ+ champion and published playwright listed in Newsweek as one of 150 Fearless Women who "shake up the world.” Morris brings over 30 years expertise in public health, strategic management and communications with work spanning across global non-profits, social campaigns and governmental agencies. Best known for building the non-profit Girl Be Heard, as Founding Executive Director/CEO where she produced award-winning shows written and performed by young people and has produced theatrical work for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women conference, TED Women, a special performance at the White House.
